There are good, easily available maps for this area as it is a popular one for mountaineers. Any reputable map supplier will be able to sell you one, or pick one up in Santiago.
Unfortunately, there is no guide book for backcountry skiing in Chile. There is a useful, if dated, guide book to the ski hills of Chile which has descriptions of some of the best lift accessible backcountry routes. It is called the South American Ski Guide by Chris Lizza. It is out of print but expensive second hand copies are available on Amazon. |
