| There are no good maps available for this region due to the military sensitivity of the area. The Lonely planet Trekking guide to the Indian Himalayas has a few useful maps to get the idea of the terrain but not for route finding. The ski touring guidebook put out by Alpine Touring (Ski Touring India’s Kullu Valley) has the best available maps in it, and is also a necessity if you are planning a trip to the Kullu Valley. Covering most of the major touring possibilities in the area, it cuts out fruitless hours or days of slogging up the wrong ridge or valley. Highly recommended. |
