| Tokachidake Cabins |
| There are 2 public cabins in the Tokachi area. Both are really only worth while in the spring. The first is on the side of Tokachi itself, at about 1900m. It is on a saddle surrounded by intermediate alpine touring. A 3 hour climb from the end of the Tokachi road will get you there, and the terrain will keep you happy from a couple of days. Adventurous lines are available, but many cliff out and most are never skied. Mostly the cabin is used for a convenient place to spend a spring evening and get the most out of the next days corn. Sleeps 30, has mattresses but has no heating. |

| Cabin - Tokachidake |
| The second is reached by a long approach from Hakuginso. Allow all day. It is small, with out any amenities, but gives access to otherwise inaccessible terrain. Being at the base of Biei dake (2052m) it has many expert lines, and much to explore heading along the ridge towards Asahidake. In spring the adventurous will be well rewarded. No booking is required for either cabin, and both are fairly straight forward to find, as they are marked on maps. |
