| Kurodake area |

| The Kurodake area lies at the northern end of the range that includes Tokachidake to the south and Asahidake in the middle. Kurodake itself has a ski hill on it, with a gondola giving good access to the alpine peaks, of which Kurodake at 1984m is the closest. Reputedly the best ski hill with backcountry access in Hokkaido, it offers a range of alpine possibilities which are really only doable once the weather calms down a bit from February onwards. |
